Job Description
We are looking for a senior Database Engineer. In this role, you will develop our database systems within an agreed timescale and quality standards.
You will collaborate with other engineers and partners to provide technical support and identify new requirements.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle. Responsible for everything related to database development.
- Create complex packages, functions, scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and data flows to support application development.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and perform bug fixes in compliance with the Service Level Agreement.
- Improve complex code areas and ensure that all modules perform at their best.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability.
- Provide team support to ensure continuous technical and product knowledge growth. Mentor junior team members.
You will report to the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- Approximately 5+ years of professional experience with Oracle 12c or higher and PL/SQL.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related IT field.
- Experience with development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of data and schema standards and concepts.
- Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to team members, partners, and customers.
- Experience with cloud services and Python.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
